Brieanna’s Business
My business is Noya Studios. I took over Evelina Kemp Hair and Beauty in June 2024. It’s a hair, beauty and massage hub where I offer a wide range of hair, beauty and massage services to my customers.

What were you doing before you made contact with Many Rivers? Why did you want to go into business?
I also have a clothing line called Rivalry. It’s focused on raising awareness and funds for men’s mental health.
Working with Many Rivers
How did you find out about Many Rivers?
I was referred to Many Rivers when I did the Micro-Business Program.
Why did you want to go into business?
My father passed away in 2022 and left me some inheritance. With the high cost of living, I wanted to use the money to set up a better future for me and my kids. I also have years of experience in management and staff supervision. It made sense to start something of my own.
What services did you receive from Many Rivers? How did it help?

I got business coaching from Bruce and a loan. The coaching was really important and still is as I have regular meetings with Bruce.
Bruce gave me advice on contracts and helped me when buying the business. He also helped with the business plan and cash flow forecast. I also made a new website for Noya Studios with the help of Bruce’s support and ideas.
What did you find the most useful about the assistance from Many Rivers?
For me, the best part was knowing Bruce was there to guide me. Bruce and Damian were my support team. Bruce has been my rock through the whole journey.
Did you get a loan from MR? How did you use the loan?
Yes, I got a $10,000 loan from Many Rivers. I used it to do repairs and maintenance in the salon, and to buy some new furniture to make it feel more luxurious for customers.
Do you have any current employees? If so, how many employees? Are they full-time or part-time?
I have 6 people in my team. They work 4 days a week at my salon.
Biggest Challenge
The biggest challenge was the legal side of taking over the business.
Biggest Success
The rebrand has been my biggest success. It gave the business a fresh start, helped attract more people, and brought my vision to life. I also got to be creative with it.
Biggest Change
Flexibility. As a single mum with two kids, the business has let me be there more for school events and time with them. It gives me pride.

Future Goals
I want to grow the business and make it Port Macquarie’s top hair, beauty and massage place. I want people to feel relaxed and leave feeling like a new person. I’m planning for a bigger space, more staff and more services—like tinting, waxing, teeth whitening, and facials.
Thank you Brieanna for sharing your business journey with us. We wish you the best of luck with future endeavours and business success.
