Darren is a proud descendant of the Kokoberren Peoples of Cape York, Queensland. He is a leader in advancing Indigenous economic self-sufficiency through institutional capital, structuring investment pathways that enable largescale Indigenous participation in mainstream markets.
As Chairman of Indigenous Business Australia (IBA), he leads Australia’s most significant Indigenous financial institution, stewarding more than AUD $2.6 billion in assets under management. His work focuses on coinvestment platforms, capital partnerships and governance frameworks that unlock bankable opportunities, while aligning commercial discipline with longterm community outcomes.
He has been a Many Rivers Non-Executive Director since 2024.
