Leader Biography

Douglas Clinch is a proud Aboriginal leader with extensive experience in community governance, public policy, and systemic reform. He currently serves as Chairperson of Neporendi Aboriginal Forum Incorporated, where he leads strategic advocacy and community-led initiatives supporting Aboriginal social, cultural and economic outcomes in South Australia.

Douglas also works as Executive Director in the Office of the Chief Executive at the South Australian Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation Network (SAACCON), the state’s peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. In this role he provides strategic leadership on Closing the Gap reforms, supporting partnerships between government and the Aboriginal community-controlled sector to advance structural change and strengthen community-led decision-making.

In addition, Douglas is an elected State Member of South Australia’s First Nations Voice to Parliament and Presiding Member of the Kumangka Warrarna Wangkanthi (Central Region) Local Voice, where he works to ensure the priorities and lived experiences of Aboriginal communities inform government policy and decision-making.

Across his leadership roles, Douglas brings a strong commitment to self-determination, community governance, and transformational reform, with a focus on strengthening Aboriginal organisations and advancing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
