Ana’s Business

I run a personal styling and colour analysis business. I started in 2023. I studied in Australia, London, Milan and Brazil, completing courses in fashion marketing, fashion styling and colour analysis.
What were you doing before you made contact with Many Rivers? What was your previous work experience?
I am a qualified pharmacist from Brazil and I have been living in Australia since 2015. I have worked in corporate roles and I have experience in retail pharmacies, operations, sales, catalogues, supplier management, supply chain and communications.
Working with Many Rivers
How did you find out about Many Rivers?
I found Many Rivers through Google search.
Why did you want to go into business?
I have always been passionate about styling and colour analysis and that is what led me towards starting my own business.

What services did you receive from Many Rivers? How did it help?
I already had a website when I started, but Renee has helped guide me as my business has grown. She has pointed me in the right direction and supported me through both wins and challenges. Business can be lonely, so having a coach to catch-up with to share ideas and growth plans with has been very helpful.
What did you find the most useful about the assistance from Many Rivers?
Honestly. the business coaching has been the most useful for me. It’s great to have someone to brainstorm ideas with and not feel so alone.
Did you get a loan from MR? How did you use the loan?
No I did not.

Do you have any current employees? If so, how many employees? Are they full-time or part-time?
It’s mostly just me. Recently, I hired a contractor to help with marketing, Google Ads and SEO for my website. I built the website myself but needed technical help for the backend. I also have a casual part-time assistant now.
Biggest Challenge
Managing the ups and downs of business. It’s easy to feel excited when things go well and stressed when they don’t. My biggest lesson has been learning that not every day will be the same, and not letting setbacks affect me. I am becoming more mature and resilient when it comes to dealing with the different challenges/setbacks involved with managing your own business.
Biggest Success
Taking the leap to start. I have learnt so much on this journey and I am proud of every challenge I have faced. I feel lucky to do what I love, and I have become braver in making decisions and taking risks.

Biggest Change
I feel proud and confident that I made the right choice. I have grown as a person and I am proud of how far I have come.
Future Goals
I have many goals. Two big ones are to create a membership plan for clients to shop for each season, and to teach colour analysis. Personally, I want to build a healthy work–life balance so my business runs well and I never have to go back to a 9–5 job.
Thank you Ana for sharing your business journey with us. We wish you the best of luck with future endeavours and business success.
