Meet Veranni Vejrazka
Veranni is the founder of Whitsunday Lasting Blooms, a business creating realistic artificial flowers designed to last as meaningful keepsakes from the Whitsundays. After years working in hospitality and education, a shift in her health prompted her to rethink what sustainable work could look like. In early 2026, she took a leap into business ownership, building something flexible, creative, and aligned with her lifestyle. What started as an idea has quickly grown into a promising venture, with strong local interest and exciting opportunities ahead.
“The most useful part of Many Rivers support was the confidence it gave me. My business coach, Haley really helped me see that I already had the skills and experience, and I just needed to back myself. Having someone in my corner who believed in what I was doing made it easier to take that first step and move forward.” – Veranni Vejrazka

About the business

My business is Whitsunday Lasting Blooms. I create and sell realistic artificial flowers that are designed to last, giving people something beautiful to take home as a memory of their time in the Whitsundays.
The idea came from wanting to build something that worked with my health, not against it. I needed something flexible that I could grow at my own pace, while still being creative and hands-on.
I officially started the business in early 2026. A big turning point for me was my Valentine’s Day sale, it really opened my eyes to the local market here in Airlie Beach. It showed me there is genuine interest, especially from tourists looking for something meaningful but easy to take home. Since then, I’ve started building local connections and growing the business step by step.
Working with Many Rivers
I was referred to Many Rivers by my employment provider, Daniel from AtWork, in early 2026 when I started seriously looking into starting my own business. His support has been absolutely amazing.
Many Rivers supported me with business planning, structure, and guidance on how to actually turn an idea into a real business. Working with Haley has made a huge difference. She helped me break things down into manageable steps and made the whole process feel achievable instead of overwhelming.
The most useful part of Many Rivers support was the confidence it gave me. My business coach, Haley really helped me see that I already had the skills and experience, and I just needed to back myself. Having someone in my corner who believed in what I was doing made it easier to take that first step and move forward.
I’m currently working through the process and exploring loan options to support the next stage of growth. The funding would go towards stock, materials, and expanding my ability to supply consistently.
Biggest Challenge
The biggest challenge has been balancing everything—work, personal commitments, and building a business at the same time. There’s also been a lot of learning and stepping outside my comfort zone, especially putting myself out there and trusting the process.
Biggest Success
Honestly, just starting and making sales, even small ones, has been a big success. The Valentine’s Day sale was a real turning point for me. It showed me there’s actually a market for this here in Airlie Beach, especially with tourists looking for something meaningful but easy to take home. That gave me the push to keep going. I’ve also had a couple of local places interested in working with me ongoing, which is really exciting.
Biggest Change
Having something that actually works around my health instead of constantly fighting it has been a big change. It’s also given me something that’s mine, something I’m building for the future instead of just getting through the week.
Future Goals
I would like to grow the business into something steady, but also push into bigger opportunities like bulk and event orders things like weddings, functions, and working with venues properly instead of just one-off sales. I would also love to build an online store so people can order from anywhere, especially tourists who have been here and want something sent home after their trip.
Thank you Veranni for sharing your business journey with us. We wish you the best of luck with future endeavours and business success.
