About the business
My name is Angeliza Wanstall and my business is dust & grace, a women’s country fashion brand. I have been operating for just over a year now. This business is really an expression of what I have learned through my studies, as well as my experience growing up in rural Queensland. Before this, I had tried a couple of different business ideas, but nothing had really stuck until now.
My business is known for its denim jeans, designed especially for women who live and work in the country. Each pair is made from strong, high quality stretch denim that allows for movement while still holding its shape. The jeans are high waisted and flattering, with thoughtful details like practical pocket placement and a fit that works both in the saddle and on the ground.
My LadyRider jeans are a standout, designed to feel comfortable all day while still looking stylish. They are made to handle tough conditions but also transition easily from work to everyday wear. It is this balance of function and style that makes dust & grace different.

Working with Many Rivers
I was referred to Many Rivers through a workshop focused on improving financial wellbeing. The facilitator recommended Many Rivers, and that is how I first got connected.
Through Many Rivers, I received a microloan. As part of that process, I developed a full business plan and cash flow statement, which really helped me understand and structure my business.
The microloan itself was incredibly valuable. When you are just starting out, it is very difficult to access finance. Without at least 12 months of strong financials, most lenders will not take a chance on you. Having that support made it possible for me to get started and move forward with confidence.
Biggest Challenge
The biggest challenge so far has been securing finances and maintaining consistent cash flow. Starting a business comes with a lot of upfront costs, and it can be difficult to build that steady financial base in the early stages.
Biggest Success
One of my biggest successes has been the strong response to my marketing and social media campaigns. I have put a lot of effort into building my presence through Instagram and Facebook, hosting a launch event, sponsoring horse riding competitions and running pop up stalls.
Another exciting milestone is working towards opening a space called Loft on East in the main street of Rockhampton. It will be more of a design studio than a traditional retail store, where customers can come in, try on pieces and make purchases.

Biggest Change
The biggest positive change for me has been moving towards financial independence, or at least progressing in that direction. It has also helped me grow my network and expand my circle, connecting with new people and opportunities that I would not have had otherwise.
Future Goals
Looking ahead, I would love to travel to large scale country and equine events with a mobile store and sell my products there. That is a big goal for me and something I am really excited to work towards as the business grows.
Thank you Angeliza for sharing your business journey with us. We wish you the best of luck with future endeavours and business success.
