LKG Cleaning Service is a 100% Aboriginal-owned business providing commercial, educational, clinical, and construction cleaning services across Queensland. Operating for around three years, the business has grown from a small start-up into a professional company delivering quality services across multiple sectors, including Tier One construction sites.
Before connecting with Many Rivers, the co-owner; Lacreicha, Kenny, and Goma brought their experience in operations and business management, laying the foundation for steady growth.

Achieving Growth Goals
Our motivation to grow came from wanting to create long-term employment and training opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, while building a sustainable, professional cleaning company that could compete for larger commercial, construction and government contracts.
We wanted to strengthen our business systems, improve our financial capability, and establish ourselves as a reliable, culturally grounded company delivering high-quality services across Queensland. Before connecting with Many Rivers, we were just working as a startup. I was the owner and manager, and before that, I worked in not-for-profit roles in finance and HR. All three of our owners have experience in operations and business management, which has laid the foundation for our growth over the past three years.
The Impact of the SBD Program
The SBD program has had a significant impact on LKG Cleaning Service. Even with prior experience in business management, external guidance from Many Rivers provided reassurance, insight, and practical advice. The one-on-one mentoring helped the team refine their strategies and confidently manage growth, particularly in the early stages.

Growth, Employment and Future Goals
Challenges: Managing cash flow and capacity while scaling up, particularly balancing large construction projects with staff resourcing.
Employment Growth: Starting with one casual worker and no full-time directors, LKG Cleaning Service now employs six full-time staff and around 35 casual staff is a testament to their growth in both capability and local employment.
Future Goals: LKG Cleaning Service aims to continue expanding, creating more jobs, building long-term partnerships, and positively impacting the cleaning industry. Currently, we operate in Brisbane, Hervey Bay, Gold Coast, and Ipswich, and we’re looking to expand throughout Queensland, eventually across the state and other parts of Australia.
