Meet Letitia and Jimmy, the owners of Worksite Insight, an Indigenous-owned mechanical maintenance, fabrication and engineering business. What began as a side hustle alongside full-time employment has grown into a business working with Tier 2 contractors across the industry. Built on strong technical capability and hands-on experience, Worksite Insight continues to evolve as Letitia and Jimmy strengthen the foundations needed for sustainable, long-term growth.
Worksite Insight provides a comprehensive range of technical and plant support solutions. The business delivers 24/7 technical support across all stages of a project lifecycle, ensuring clients receive reliable guidance from planning through to completion. Their plant solutions include around-the-clock breakdown response and mechanical support for both fixed and remote process plants. Worksite Insight also specialises in scheduled maintenance solutions, designing and delivering proactive maintenance programs that help clients avoid costly and unplanned downtime. Complementing this, they offer manufacturing solutions, collaborating with local vendors to deliver high-quality precision machining and fabrication services.

About the business
We started Worksite Insight as a small side hustle alongside our primary employment. At the time, it was simply something we were good at, and we began by working with a small number of selected clients. Over time, the business grew steadily and has since evolved into working mainly with Tier 2 contractors.
Our core services include mechanical maintenance, fabrication and engineering. As the work increased and the business became more established, we realised that while we were confident in our trade skills, running a business was a completely different challenge. That realisation marked a turning point in our journey.
Working with Many Rivers
As the business grew, we became aware that no one had really taught us how to run a business properly. We didn’t know if the decisions we were making were right or wrong, and that uncertainty became a big motivator for reaching out for support.
That’s when we connected with Tito through the Many Rivers Small Business Development program. Tito was able to walk us through all the aspects of running a business, particularly areas we didn’t understand. His guidance helped us make sense of the day-to-day operations and gave us confidence in the decisions we were making. Having Tito as a mentor has been a real game-changer for us.
Achieving Growth Goals
One of the main reasons we reached out to Many Rivers was for support around finance. We already had bookkeepers in place, but we didn’t really understand the numbers ourselves or how to use them to make informed decisions.
With Tito’s support, we’re now able to see projections of our cash flow and understand where the business is heading financially. Before working with Tito, this was something we couldn’t do, and having that clarity has been critical for planning and growth.
Impact of the SBD Program
The planning workshops and business tools delivered by Tito have been incredibly valuable. We can now forecast our cash flow more accurately and plan more efficiently, which has completely changed the way we approach the business.
The program has brought structure to our business. We now have clearer systems, better visibility of the future, and a stronger sense of direction. Tito’s guidance has made the business feel more sustainable and has given us confidence in the decisions we’re making every day.
Employment Growth
When we first signed up to the Many Rivers SBD program, our team was much smaller. At that time, we employed a total of 7 staff, including a mix of Indigenous and non-Indigenous employees across full-time and casual roles.
Since then, the business has grown significantly. As of our most recent review, our workforce has expanded to 13 employees. This includes a growing number of Indigenous team members across full-time and casual positions, as well as additional non-Indigenous staff supporting the business across full-time, part-time and casual roles.
This growth has been a big milestone for us. With clearer planning, better financial visibility and ongoing support from Tito, we’ve been able to build confidence in employing more people and creating sustainable jobs. Strengthening our team has not only supported business growth, but also allowed us to better deliver for our clients while creating meaningful employment opportunities.
Challenges and Future Goals
One of the main challenges we’re still working through is clearing some financial backlog from earlier stages of the business, when things weren’t as structured or organised. That includes managing interest and other financial matters that built up over time.
We’re actively working through this now and feel much more comfortable knowing we’re on the right path. Looking ahead, our next focus is stepping back slightly to refine our mission statement, set clear goals, and ensure everyone involved is aligned and working toward the same vision. Tito has been helping us think through this process, and his insights are helping us lay a solid foundation for the next stage of growth.
Recommendation to other Indigenous Business Owners
We’ve participated in a few business development programs, and the Many Rivers SBD program has been the most valuable by far. The level of understanding, knowledge and experience that Tito brings really stands out.
As business owners, you don’t always know if you’re making the right or wrong decisions and sometimes there isn’t a clear answer. Having Tito guide us and share his expertise across all areas of business has made a huge difference. We don’t know what we don’t know, and leaning on someone like Tito has been key for our confidence and growth.
We would absolutely recommend the Many Rivers SBD program to other Indigenous business owners, especially with someone as supportive and knowledgeable as Tito leading the way.
Thank you Letitia & Jimmy for sharing your business journey with us. We wish you the best of luck with future endeavours and business success.
