Do you have a business loan and worried you can’t pay?
If you have a business loan with Many Rivers and are experiencing financial hardship we will work with you to help you get back on track. In these situations we may be able to help you by deferring or reducing your repayments for a period. We will always try to help provide a solution to suit your individual needs. This might be for a short, medium or long period of time depending on your circumstances. For us to assist, you may need to provide some information such as Centrelink documents, medical information, employment status, proof of income, liabilities and expenditure.

Loss of a Partner
Dealing with bereavement and the management of a Deceased Estate is a difficult time. We are here to help. If your partner had a business loan with Many Rivers please notify us.
Before you notify us
Please provide a copy of the ‘Proof of death’ as formal notification to Many Rivers, including:
- Death Certificate
- Doctor’s Medical Certificate
- Funeral Bill
- Solicitor’s or Coroner’s Letter
- Grant of Probate
- Letters of Administration
- Probate Bond.
You will also be required to provide your proof of identification and relationship to the deceased or authority to represent the estate.
Notifying us
You may contact your partner’s Many Rivers Microenterprise Development Manager, if known. Alternatively, the Many Rivers Client Support Team will assist in providing guidance about the process. The Many Rivers Client Support Team are available on 1300 MANY RIVERS (or 1300 626 974), Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm (Sydney time) or at [email protected].

We accept documents emailed directly to us – as long as they have been certified as true copies.
What happens next?
Once you notify us and provide at least one of the Proof of Death documents we will place on hold all standing loan repayment Direct Debits. A member of the Client Support Team will contact you within 10 working days to discuss the situation. Where the loan was solely in the name of the deceased the loan balance outstanding may be forgiven. Joint loan holder(s) will need to continue repaying the loan which may continue to accrue interest on the account until the loan is finalised.

To fully support you in your business journey it is important that you advise us of any changes to your personal and/or business details, including:

To protect your privacy and keep your data secure you will be required to identify yourself before Many Rivers can update your details.
Loan Statement Requests
If you currently have a business loan with Westpac you will be issued with Loan Statements on a six-monthly basis. If you’re registered for online banking you can monitor your account online as you require. If your loan has been transferred to Many Rivers you will continue to receive Loan Statements on a six-monthly basis or may request a Loan Statement as required.

Interest Rates
Many Rivers Business Loan:
Rate current on and from May 2020: 7% per annum, fixed for the term of the loan. Available for current and new clients of Many Rivers.
Westpac facilitated Business Loan:
Rate current on and from 21 November 2023: 12.02% per annum (consisting of Business Development Rate (base rate for Business Loans) of 9.02% pa + 3.00% pa margin, variable rate). Applies to current Many Rivers clients with a current Westpac Business Loan.
Please Note: A variable rate may go up or down during the term of a loan. If interest rates increase, your loan term will increase unless you increase the amount of your repayments. Alternatively, if interest rates decrease and you retain your current repayments, your loan will be repaid more quickly and the loan term may be reduced
