Meet Gustaf & Siggi
We have just released all our workshops on DVDs and they are also available for download online. We have been teaching people to make gourmet cheeses and cured meat for over 12 years now. Before COVID19 we held workshops face-to-face for various gourmet cheese and cured meat. Now we offer workshops virtually so that our customers can watch from the comfort of their own home. Every virtual workshop includes English captions for the hearing impaired. We also offer a step-by-step booklet with every DVD or online download.
Working with Many Rivers
Thanks to Many Rivers financial help, we managed to take the business to the next level. It has made a huge difference to be able to get a loan so that we can take the necessary steps to take the business forward. Big thanks to our business coach, Ofelia and the extremely friendly and helpful people working at Many Rivers, who always do everything possible to help our small businesses succeed.
Biggest Challenge
Putting it all together was a huge job and it took a while because we did it all ourselves. From video filming, photographs, audio recording to editing and adding captions. Having to work in programs like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere and other software is a challenge. Although I had some experience, it was still tough so we split the work. I took care of the technical side of it while Siggi was in front of the video camera. Building the website was also a challenge because I had never used a WordPress website. I guess if you put your mind to something and want it badly enough – everything is possible! Even if you are well over 60.
Biggest Success
The large number of the customers who have attended our live workshops, which include lots of farmers and country people. We feel that our workshops have had an impact on these peoples lives. Also all the customers who have bought our DVDs and online downloads. The testimonials we have got back are awesome and makes it all a big success.
Future Goals for Viking Kitchen
Our goal is to get this to as many people as possible who are interested in learning something new. We are even interested in teaching skills to people who want to make and sell products themselves. I have also got plans on exporting these online workshops to other countries and selling it worldwide on the web.
