Today we are meeting with two business coaches from the Western Australian team. They are meeting with very different small business owners who are in very different locations, who all have the same goal – to start, stay and thrive in business.
Many Rivers has a team of business coaches right across the country to support people to kick start their small business ideas. Australia is so diverse and so is the role of our business coaches. Depending what part of our beautiful country they are located, their day-to-day tends to look pretty different. So we are going to dive into a day with Joy who is in Perth WA and then a day with Kris who has a very different experience as a business coach in Broome WA.
Meet Joy – Perth, WA
Joy works in a city and so she is in high demand with back to back meetings nearly everyday. In this clip you will join Joy on a typical day out and about around Perth. First she meets with Jacqueline who is the small business owner of State of Wild Glamping. She is working through some paper work with Joy so that she can get a micro-loan with Many Rivers. Next she meets with Tessa who runs Pop Kulture, a sauerkraut and food truck business. She is looking into business development options to expand her business. Finally, Joy catches up with Lee Mayanne who runs Abode Styling and helps prepare homes for sale. Joy gives her some tips on how to network to get more clients such as talking to relators.
Meet Kris – Broome, WA
Kris works in a more remote location so he regularly has to drive hundreds of kilometres to meet up with clients who want to go into business. On this particular day, Kris hits the road early to drive to Derby which is 200km away from Broome. Here he meets with Diana from Winun Nagari Aboriginal Corporation which is the largest community development provider for remote Aboriginal communities in the West Kimberley. They partner with Many Rivers in the Kimberley region to help people bring their business ideas to life. While he is in Broome, Kris visits Shakira who is the small business owner of Beautiful Again, a beauty salon. They look over her cashflow together and track her progress against her goals. Kris is so excited to see that she hit her goals earlier than expected! Heading back to Broome, Kris meets with Taja from Little Local. They discuss how she can get more clients to rent out her venue and ways to create a Little Local community. For his last meeting of the day, Kris catches up with Klade from Scope Electrical. They chat about his workload and to discuss whether it is time to buy a second vehicle and hire staff in the near future. Take a look!
We hope you enjoyed joining two of our business coaches on the road as much as we did.
