What were you doing before you made contact with Many Rivers? Why did you want to go into business?
Working with Many Rivers
I came across Many Rivers through a Facebook ad.
Why did you want to go into business?
I wanted to keep the business going to support my mum and honour my dad’s memory.
What services did you receive from Many Rivers? How did it help?
Many Rivers has been a great support. They have provided me with mentoring and guidance, especially during times when my mental health was a challenge. My business coach, Alex helped me develop a business plan for a loan application, which was really helpful for me.
What did you find the most useful about the assistance from Many Rivers?
The ongoing support has been the most helpful. Alex regularly checks in on me to ensure that my business is heading on the right track.
Did you get a loan from MR? How did you use the loan?
No, I haven’t gotten a loan yet.
Do you have any current employees? If so, how many employees? Are they full-time or part-time?
It’s just me managing the business on my own.
Biggest Challenge
Probably managing my mental health and coping with the rising costs due to inflation.
Biggest Success
Securing regular contracts with a few loyal customers and being a long-standing part of the local community.
Biggest Change
It has helped me find a better work-life balance. We’re also planning to expand the business, which is exciting.
Future Goals
I would like to diversify the business by opening a café or bakery alongside the flower shop. The idea is to offer coffee, tea, cakes, and giftware to create a welcoming space for people to visit. I’m also planning to use a Many Rivers loan to help bring this idea to life.
Thank you Jenny-Lyn for sharing your business journey with us. We wish you the best of luck with future endeavours and business success.
