Jessica’s Business
Nearly a year ago, I launched Hale Tass Business Solutions—a dedicated bookkeeping and administrative support service tailored to the unique needs of small and micro businesses. Our mission is to help businesses build a strong financial management foundation, implement effective accounting systems, and provide ongoing training and support to foster confident and sustainable growth.
What were you doing before you made contact with Many Rivers? Why did you want to go into business?
Prior to collaborating with Many Rivers, I worked as a bookkeeper and administrator in the mining and construction industry for over 8 years. During this time, I obtained qualifications in bookkeeping, Workplace Health and Safety, and earned my Diploma in Project Management. I continue to work in the mining industry, contributing my skills and experience.
Working with Many Rivers
I was referred to Many Rivers through a connection I made with Haley Molloy at a networking event in Mackay in late 2023. During our conversations, it became clear that there was a significant gap in bookkeeping and administration services available to support the local First Nations community.
Why did you want to go into business?
I wanted to go into business to help drive the financial success of small and micro businesses. Hale Tass Business Solutions reflects my passion for supporting individuals and making a meaningful impact within the community. Empowering people by teaching them how to manage their finances is incredibly rewarding. Additionally, I am committed to continually growing and striving to become the best and most successful version of myself.

The most valuable aspect of the assistance from Many Rivers has been the holistic support offered. Not only did I receive guidance in establishing the business structure, but I also benefited from the practical advice and emotional encouragement that kept me motivated and focused on my goals both personally and in the business.
Did you get a loan from MR? How did you use the loan?
No, I have not received a loan from Many Rivers.
Do you have any current employees? If so, how many employees? Are they full-time or part-time?
No, at this stage of the journey I am the sole operator of the business.
Biggest Challenge
My business challenge to date would be not over committing to opportunities. Balancing everything without a team has been tough but extremely rewarding, as each milestone reached feels even more significant.
Biggest Success
My biggest success to date is securing clients who appreciate the unique value my business brings. This has validated my efforts and reinforced my confidence in the path I have chosen with Hale Tass Business Solutions. To date I have had the privilege of completing works with 12 clients across the country in various industries including Education, Film Media & Design, Construction & Maintenance, Hospitality & Retail.
Biggest Change
The biggest change for me since starting my business has been learning to manage my time effectively to balance work and ‘play’. Achieving a healthy balance between the two is crucial for me.
I’m incredibly lucky to be surrounded by supportive family and friends who stand by me and Hale Tass Business Solutions.
Future Goals
I aim to diversify the services offered with innovative solutions to better serve my clients. Ultimately, my goal is to establish Hale Tass Business Solutions as a trusted, approachable and leading provider in our community and wider region, known for excellence and caring about each client’s specific needs.
