Clitie owns Wellstead Shrubs, a business that makes and sells an Arabic drinking vinegar called ‘shrubs’.
In addition to Wellstead Shrubs, Clitie has recently opened The Tasting House. As her product is not well known in Australia, Clitie educates her customers on the product by offering them shrub tastings. This unique beverage is packed with flavour and designed for cocktails and sodas.

Working With Many Rivers
“Many River is very supportive. Because I am a sole business owner, I have no one to bounce ideas off. So it is great to go to Tim and say ‘I have this idea, what do you think?'”
“I had to branch off in order to move it forward, so i created a second businesses called The Tasting House which is where we retail the shrubs but it’s also about the food and drink industry.”
Tim and Clitie realised that The Tasting House wasn’t going to earn enough by retail tasting to sustain her business. They came up with the idea to hold unique events such as ‘Gather The Girls’.
To hold these events at her tasting house, Clitie has collaborated with two of her friends who decorate and make deserts.
“Anyone in a small business could hit a brick wall. The way to get through that is to pick yourself up and support yourself with really positive people.”
“Friends have been imperative, basically, I couldn’t have done it without them.”
“Pick up the phone and ring your mentor, it is that person to bounce off. Even if it’s just a bit of emotional support, it doesn’t always have to be business support either.”
